Our school community ROCKS!!
This week, we collect 5,847 items weighing a total of 2,172lbs and over $1500!  Way to go Mamquam! The Squamish Food Bank thanks you for this incredible donation!

It has been a great fall season so far in the garden, we have been exploring the themes of food processing, seeds savings, the seeds we eat and the ones we use to flavour up our recipes. As the temperature and daylight are dropping growing season is almost over. This week we have been focusing on harvesting. Every class has been helping to harvest almost all the vegetables left in the garden. Click the link to learn more

We’ve been busy in the library this week processing new books that we purchased with rewards that we earned from The Scholastic Book Fair. A huge thank-you to the Mamquam community for all of your support with the book fair. In total, we earned $1400 in rewards that we can use to support literacy at Mamquam!

Our students have had one week of tennis with Coach Nash from Tennis XL. This weeks focus was getting connected to the racket and the ball (bagel and the juggle, juggle), safety and growth mindset. All students have had the opportunity to participate in at least two sessions. Nash will return next week for more skill development and fun. Thank you to our PAC for supporting physical literacy at Mamquam!

Residential schools are a part of our Canadian history that requires a humanistic understanding that runs deeper than seeing it as a fact on a time line, or a bump in our past.  It requires us to develop a level of understanding that will enable us to see this act for what it was, so that we can start to move forward with understanding equality and social justice.  It is about honouring the voices and stories of the past.

Mamquam hosted its annual Terry Fox Run/Walk, on Wednesday, September 29.   We raised $543.85 for cancer research.  Way to go Mamquam Community!
