As the school year is coming to a close we wanted to reach out one final time to remind you to ensure your child’s immunizations are up to date. You can check your child’s records at https://www.healthgateway.gov.bc.ca/
If you child missed their immunizations at the school you can book them either:
• At the Health Unit via the Jane App https://squamishpublichealth.janeapp.com/ or
• At select local pharmacies www.vch.ca\school-age-immunization-campaign
• Covid Vaccines can be booked through https://www2.gov.bc.ca/gov/content/covid-19/vaccine/register

We are hoping this is a good sign that Summer is finally on its way! Don't forget to bring hats and sunscreen!

The team competed in their second race of the Pedal to the Medal Series. The students rode a variety of trails on the Cheekeye Fan and had a great time. The team spirit is developing with students supporting one another and working through challenges together. Our coaches heard one of our racers sharing a beautiful story with the Race Director about compassion when he witnessed another racer stop and help an injured rider. There are many lessons learned during extracurricular events like this. We had many top 10 finishers this week. Students will compete in their third and final race Tuesday. June 14 .

Art Harry has finished his beautiful carving of the Raven that represents our school. It is now hanging in the front hall, please stop by to admire this magnificent piece of art! A huge thanks to Art and staff and students at Mamquam for this collaborative piece!

June is Pride Month! At Mamquam this month we have hung a Pride flag in the main entrance to the school to show our support and to celebrate the resilience and contributions of the LGBTQ2+ community. Throughout the month, we will be having important conversations about the importance of this flag and what it represents. At our school, equity, diversity and inclusion are of utmost importance. All who enter here are welcomed and supported!

On Tuesday, May 31st, Mamquam’s Mountain Biking Team raced in their first race in two years. They participated in the Pedal to Medal race series at Don Ross Middle School and the Dump Trails. Mamquam had 12 kids participate in the race with many top place finishers. We are so grateful to have so many schools and students attending and participating in the Sd48 event. Thank you all volunteers for volunteering for this race we would not have been able to have this race event.
