Ms. Lock's class submitted original artwork for the Legion Remembrance Day Poster Contest. The theme was remembering. Soly from Ms. Lock's class won for her beautiful birds eye view piece done with art pencils with lovely shading detail. She placed second in all of BC! Congratulations Soly!

Staff and students really enjoyed to amazing sunshine today on our last day of school before Spring Break. It was very fitting as our Tropical Spirit day really felt extra tropical! We also enjoyed our movie day and games room reward!

Students at Mamquam had the chance to meet local juvenile fiction author Kim Spencer this week. She shared her new book “Weird Rules to Follow” with students along with strategies for brainstorming ideas for writing.

Dear Parents and Guardians,

Due to a provincial change in dates for the October Non-Instructional days for the next two school years (2024-2025 and 2025-2026) the Board of Education has approved a change to the October Non-Instructional days for those two years. The October Non-Instructional day is a common day for all BC school districts and those dates are set provincially. Please note that for the 2024-2025 school year, the date is changed from October 18 to October 25. For the 2025-2026 school year, the date is changed from October 17 to October 24. All school and district calendars will be updated to reflect this change. Please let me know if you have any questions.

The Sea to Sky School District would like to wish a Happy Ramadan to those who observe it. Ramadan 2024 starts on Monday, March 11, and ends on Tuesday, April 9, subject to the moon sighting. It is a month of fasting, worship, charity, reflection, and social bonding for Muslims worldwide. The conclusion of Ramadan is marked with the celebration of Eid al-Fitr.
