Evans Lake’s summer day camp gets your child outside and learning about forests, fresh water, and local plant and animal species. Interactive games, camper-led discoveries, hikes to nearby mountain lookouts, and much, much more ensure endless opportunities for youth to escape, explore, and experience nature first-hand. Campers hone their outdoor skills while also enjoying some of our classic Evans Lake camp activities, like campfire songs and cannonballs in the lake. The Ministry of Education and Child Care, in partnership with adolescent Clinical Psychologist, Dr. Hayley Watson, will be hosting free virtual sessions on youth substance use for parents/guardians, caregivers and caring adults. Dr. Watson will provide valuable insights, practical tips, and resources to equip participants with the tools needed to guide their children and youth toward making positive choices when it comes to substance use. Session dates are February 20, 22 and 28th from 6:00 - 7:30 om PST. More information here.

Literacy Week was last week at Mamquam and it was a great success! We celebrated with a school wide Drop Everything and Read on Wednesday, we had some amazing book recommendations and we had over 300 entries into our Family Literacy Bingo and 7 winners! Thanks Mamquam for supporting literacy!

March 'In the Know' event Beyond Behaviours: When is it More? What it Looks Like in Ages 13-18

The Whistler Sliding Centre has only a few more sessions of Discover Luge left this season, don’t miss out! Feel the rush of Tobogganing with your kids—only better! For three more Sundays, youth 8+ can Discover the Olympic sport of Luge, no experience required. NEW this year, parents can slide too, space permitting. In this 2-hour session, young participants will receive an introduction to the sport of luge and its equipment. Athletes will receive a safety orientation and instructions prior to heading outside for an on-ice sliding session to build familiarity with the sport. Sliding will start at Curve 13 and run through the final four curves of the track. Athletes will receive coaching and be supervised to ensure safety while at the venue. Squamish Multifaith Association and Squamish Nation Valley Elders are inviting the community to a Multicultural Celebration at Totem Hall. This annual event is solely contributed to by local community members – food, performances, cultural sharing through crafts and dance and more! This day will be a great opportunity for everyone to connect, share, appreciate, embrace and foster diversity and inclusion in our community. An afternoon of International music, food and more!
