On November 11, Canadians pause in a moment of remembrance to honour the courage and sacrifice of all veterans who have served our country. Today, schools across our district will host ceremonies to commemorate Remembrance Day.

November 8th is Indigenous Veterans Day. It is a time to remember and commemorate the stories and contributions of Indigenous veterans in wars and conflicts past and present. The Christmas Craft Fair decorating committee is looking to borrow two large, preferably pre-lit Christmas trees (one approximately 6 foot, one larger) for the event on November 18. We would just need them for the day and would return them to you either that same night or the next morning. Please let me know if you have one we can borrow! We are trying to spend as little as possible while still having a beautiful holiday market so appreciate your help with this!

We are also still looking for a photographer for our Christmas photo area. If anyone has a good camera and is willing to donate a couple of hours to help us out (or perhaps you know a teen photographer or new photographer looking to gain some experience), please let us know! Our Christmas photo zone is a huge part of our craft fair!

We did it again Mamquam! This year we donated 1337 items of food and $430 to the Food Bank with our Mamquam Scares Hunger! Thanks to everyone who donated, the Food Bank was thrilled!

We had a small but mighty group at the final cross country race of the season at Squamish Elementary School on Thursday. The HSSS leadership students helped organize the race and we saw many Mamquam alumni. It was a wet few laps around the field and into the surrounding trails. We had many top finishers and some very cold and soggy kids. Thank you to our coaches for supporting the runners during practices and races. Thank you to families for cheering on all of the runners and for providing transportation. We are so proud of the growth and connection we have seen with this Mamquam team!

We need your help! The bake sale and cake walk are a huge part of the Christmas Craft Fair and we need quite a few donations to make these two favourite events a success. We have sent home a form to sign up and please consider donating. Thank you
