Orange Shirt Day

Our Orange Shirt Day was a wonderful experience for our Mamquam Community.  The whole school learned and joined in on our “Song of Encouragement”.  We will be using this song, gifted to our school by Russell Wallace of the Lil’Wat Nation, in many more school gatherings.

This Week…(and next)

Coffee and Conversation will take place Friday morning at 9 am in the school Library Learning Commons (October 28).  This is a great way to connect with other parents and visit with our Principal.  Just come on down!!

FOIPPA  –  PLEASE COMPLETE THESE ASAP! (if you haven’t already..) Deadline extended to October 31

Annual Freedom of Information permissions were emailed to all families.  Please check your in-boxes (or junk/spam folders) and complete for each child in school.  We must have this information by October 21, 2016 (earlier though please!!) So far only 70 of our 200+ families have completed them.  They take only a minute or two to complete with a quick yes/no!  Mrs. Smillie has extended the deadline to October 31.  PLEASE get them completed by then!

Christmas Craft Fair

Our PAC Sponsored Craft Fair is scheduled for November 24th, 6-8:00 pm.  Table rental forms are available at the school office or  download the form.  This is always a fun well attended community event!  We look forward to many and varied vendors and crafters.

We encourage students (and families) to walk or bike to school.  Most of our students live within a 10 minute walkING radius.  HASTe (Hub for Active School Travel) has had school, parent, student, RCMP and DOS staff input on safe routes to school.  What a great guide for students travelling to school by foot or on bikes/scooters!  best-route-to-school
